GB QV 1857 1d Rose-red Transitional (Plate 53)! C9A(3) FK FU Mike Williams Certificate

The incredibly rare plate 53 in rose-red shade. The latest Stanley Gibbons Queen Victoria specialised catalogue states "about 60 used examples are recorded, mostly in pale rose C9A with a few examples in rose-red". That means that this plate in this distinct shade is as rare as the fabled plate 77 (5 recorded used examples). Fine used with a Scots duplex cancellation. No faults. Provided with a Mike Williams certificate to confirm authenticity.
